WASHINGTON, D.C
Join Read & Run on the Road organizer Chelsey Stone for a special two-day event with Joanna Hill, author of Unique Eats and Eateries of Washington DC and DC Scavenger!
11:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Pre-run discussion with author JoAnn Hill
12:15-1:45 a.m. Run a route inspired by Unique Eats and Eateries of Washington, DC
Come celebrate delicious food and great people in our community. Before we set out, we’ll get to talk with author JoAnn Hill, who will share insights from writing this book and her experiences connecting with the restaurateurs we will be sampling from. Her book tells the stories of the incredible, dedicated people behind these amazing restaurants.
On this 3.5 mile, easy-paced fun run, we explore four eateries highlighted in Unique Eats and Eateries of Washington, DC: Seylou Bakery & Mill, Fava Pot, Dolcezza Gelato & Coffee, and Henry’s Soul Cafe. We’ll work up an appetite as we travel through Shaw, DuPont Circle, and U Street.
Of course we can’t just run by these restaurants, so get ready to try some delicious treats from each: fresh bread, traditional Egyptian cuisine, gelato, and sweet potato pie.* But don’t worry! We’ll savor a bite or two, so we can comfortably jog in between.
